Summary
Target Audience
The community of digital artists was considered when developing this website which includes faculty, staff, students, family members, members of the press, and business experts.
Students will have the opportunity to present the projects they have been working on throughout their studies at the digital arts festival. Family and friends will get the chance to learn more about the students' chosen careers. If potential students choose to enroll in one of the featured programs, they will have the opportunity to witness directly the results of their studies. The festival offers students a chance to network with potential employers.
Site Message
The purpose of the website is to educate visitors on the specifics of the portfolio showcase. There is a location, dates, and time on which the event will be hosted. The website features galleries of previous showcases as well as the programs that will be shown.
The time, date, and location are presented on each page of the website to aid in conveying the message. A customized contact page with a contact form and GPS for simple navigation to the event has been created in case the visitors require additional assistance.
Site Goal
The website's purpose is to attract users to participate in the event and to showcase the student projects that will be displayed there. The website's layout helps it do this by including date, time, and place on every page for quick reference. Users can go through the pages with ease thanks to a simple menu layout.
CTA
There are numerous calls to action on the contact page. We've incorporated a contact form and a google map onto the page for simple navigation and a contact form to answer questions the visitors might have.
Cards are equipped with built-in buttons, with statements like "learn more" having the shape of a button.
Design Summary
I decided to use the colors from the NWTC logo for the site. I wanted to preserve NWTC's color theme throughout the site. I experimented with different color schemes, but in the end, I decided on a light background because it brought out the colors the accent colors.
A CSS grid was used to create the 2-column layout; I value assignments that require us to employ a certain technology. There is a plethora of layouts one can design with a grid. There aren't many restrictions with CSS grid, and like with other web technologies, the only way to learn is to use what you've learned. Websites built using CSS Grid significantly improve workflow. It only remains to add the content once the primary layout has been established. The typography was chosen to give the user a professional and modern experience before they begin to read.
